Project Profile: Creating New Systems in Somerville – Part 2!

This client reached out to us after seeing our professional organizing studio on Mass Ave. At that time, she and her family had been living in their house for two years but were unsure if their home storage solutions were effective. They struggled to create and maintain organization systems in their space. Her priorities included organizing the basement, office, and garage, but after our consultation, we expanded the project scope significantly. The client was ready to tackle her entire home, allowing us to implement a range of storage solutions to meet every need. We transformed her home office, updated all the closets on the second floor, and even assisted with interior design updates in the primary bedroom!

The Office
Our client, a writer working in various mediums, struggled to create an office space that balanced creativity with functionality. We sorted and purged through every category in her office, including two full filing cabinets of old paperwork and dozens of writing notebooks. We created organized homes for everything in the office closet to provide easy access to frequently used supplies.
The Primary Bedroom
We were excited to enhance this home with Elfa storage solutions. We updated the existing built-in closet with drawers, gliding shoe shelves, and labels to improve organization while removing only some of the existing shelving.
The Primary Bathroom
We tackled the primary bathroom with classic sorting and purging over two sessions. We went through everything, discarded or donated unneeded items, and reorganized the cabinets. New storage containers and labels were added to give the space a polished finish and make maintenance easy.
Efficient Closets for Kids
The bedroom of our client’s young daughter was transformed with an Elfa system and a door rack. We used the door rack for hair accessories and small items, making it easier for her to get ready in the morning. A lower hanging rod was also added to help her reach and choose her own outfits.
Multi-Purpose Room Transformation
The multi-purpose room on the second floor, previously used just for storage, was cleared out and repurposed for yoga and meditation. We installed a new closet system, including a Gift Packaging Over the Door Rack, making the space more effective and functional.
It has been such a joy to see the change over time in this client’s home and the benefits that it has had for their whole family.
